Name Notes as You Play

Pages 12 and 13 are great for learning your notes. That was exactly their purpose.

Play them very slowly and name the notes as you play them.

Do whatever you have to do to keep it slow.

You might count 8ths:

e and f and g and a and…etc.

or sixteenth notes:

c ka ta ka g ka ta ka a ka ta ka b ka ta ka…etc.

or 32nd notes:

e ka ta ka and ka ta ka f ka…etc.

When you come to f♯ name it as “f-sharp”. Don’t talk fast, play slow.

When page 12 becomes too easy, just do page 13.
