This quote, used by permission, is about writing to a newsgroup, but to me it relates to much more.

For a professional musician who works in the field of classical guitar, there is nothing to gain from sharing his knowledge in a newsgroup. Yet, it may be a sign of a certain attitude toward life that he does not close himself in an ivory tower and proclaim: "I am too important for these guys". His words as well as the music he writes are addressed to all of humanity, not just to individuals, and there is a lot of humanity here in this group, although it is mixed in with a lot of individuals.
